Driver CPC

Why you need Driver CPC:

• You need a Driver CPC if you drive a lorry, bus, or coach as the main part of your job.

• It's illegal to drive professionally without a valid Driver CPC.

• You can be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without a valid Driver CPC.

How to maintain your Driver CPC:

• Periodic Training: You must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to maintain your Driver CPC.

• Training Courses: Courses must be at least 7 hours long.

• E-learning: A maximum of 12 hours of e-learning can count towards the 35 hours of training.

• Driver Qualification Card (DQC): You'll receive a Driver CPC card (also known as a DQC) when you've completed your training.

• Carry your DQC: You must carry your DQC while driving professionally.

• Replacement: You must replace your card if it's lost or stolen.

• Driving without your card: You can get a £50 fixed penalty for driving professionally without your card.
